Emerging Horizons (2021) – Documentary

Mike created this film as the “data collection” part of his PhD Thesis project. An entire Digital Storytelling workshop was recorded and turned into this 53 min documentary.

Synopsis: 7,000 Young Adults are diagnosed with cancer every year in Canada, but very few people know their story. In this film, six young adult cancer survivors come together for the first time to share the story they want to tell in a Digital Storytelling workshop. Through the process of creating their own short-film they are able to craft meaning out of their challenging cancer experience and come to understand the incredible lessons embedded in their own life story.
