Mike was involved with the Adolescent and Young Adult National Network (AYANN) at the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer since its first national meeting in 2010 until 2019. The AYANN serves as a pan-Canadian forum, comprised of representative leaders, including patient/family advisors from all Canadian jurisdictions and relevant national organizations to review, discuss, prioritize and take action on matters of mutual interest or concern related to Adolescents and Young Adults with cancer. Mike was a core member of the Education and Capacity building committee and played a role in the development of the 2017 special report on AYA cancer in Canada. He represented the AYANN in 17 local and national media interviews since 2010 and was actively involved on a national scale to improve oncology care for AYAs with cancer. He is still involved in advocacy through CPAC when needed.
