CancerBridges Survivorship Education

The Alberta CancerBridges team was a provincial collection of researchers, oncology professionals, and cancer survivors with special interest in researching and delivering evidence-based survivorship care. Our mission was to engage and empower cancer survivors throughout their cancer journey by providing support, information, and opportunities to be directly involved in their healing. Mike was hired by Dr. Janine Giese-Davis (who eventually became his MSc. supervisor) to create this pilot project and he was heavily involved until it was fully integrated into Alberta Health Services core patient education services. Mike organized and hosted 23 “Living Your Best Life” education events with thousands of cancer survivors around Alberta from 2012-2015 and created many educational videos that are still used today by CancerControl Alberta (see Film Director/Producer section to watch these videos).
