The Garrod Symposium

The Garrod Symposium is an annual medical conference focused on Inborn errors of metabolism (IEMs) which are rare genetic or inherited disorders resulting from an enzyme defect in biochemical and metabolic pathways. Mike worked directly with the Garrod Symposium in 2022 to create digital stories about the experiences of visible minority communities with IEMs. These stories were used in the conference to stimulate discussions about Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion when caring for families who have children with IEMs.
